Funny how nobody seems able to imagine how the future will play out. In 1998 Cowboy Bebop's creators equipped Spike with this "high tech" surveillance gear -- dig the wired connection to the glasses and the big antenna -- never dreaming that the average smartphone user in 2009 would tote around more power in a tiny handheld device. If they'd shown Spike using an iPhone™, viewers in the 1990's would have scoffed, "Nah... never gonna happen!" |
